Doha – QatarDebate

Elite Academy started yesterday and will continue till November 24; the academy is organized and hosted by QatarDebate Center (QD) a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), at student center, Education City.  The six-day event features 12 participants from Tunisia, Kuwait, Oman, France, Sudan, and Qatar.

During the two previous stages of Elite academy, the participants were evaluated according to different criteria to be promoted to stage 3, which started yesterday as part of the QD center’s efforts to provide practical training for youth by developing their skills in training, coaching, and organizing.

In addition, Elite academy members will contribute in Doha Forum: Youth Edition, which is one of the most important events in QD’s 2018 calendar, as it focuses on the importance of dialogue in addressing contemporary issues and current challenges, in which youth from various backgrounds and cultures will discuss currently- trending topics and issues from around the world.

Commenting on the “Elite Academy 3”, Abdulrahman Al-Subaie, Head of Outreach Program – QatarDebate said: Elite Academy is designed for two purposes. The first is to transform the participants from debater to debate instructor and develop their skills to be able to create training programs, in addition, to sourcing and coordinating the knowledge content and formulating different issues. He added the second purpose is to prepare the participants to be international judges in the 5th International Arabic Universities Debating Championship 2019.

The elite academy is a translation of the hard work that QatarDebate placed in developing and activating the skills of trainers and judges, and giving the chance to young people to present their projects in their respected countries.
