Mubarrat Wassey

Mubarrat is a debate instructor at QatarDebate since 2018. Mubarrat has led multiple projects within the English program department along with conducting various high-level training programs and workshops. Currently Mubarrat is coaching and mentoring Team Qatar that will represent Qatar in the upcoming WSDC.

Mubarrat has an extensive debating experience and many achievements throughout his career. Mubarrat is a 3-time Asian Champion and Best Speaker. He led the only Asian team to win the Australasian Championships in its 43-year history. A Cambridge IV Open Champion, Mubarrat was the first ESL speaker, and the only Asian to date, to ever be crowned best speaker at the Cambridge Intervarsity. He is also a 3-time Worlds Universities Debate Championship (WUDC) breaking speaker (Open Category) and WUDC Best Speaker (ESL).

As an Adjudicator, Mubarrat was the Deputy Chief Adjudicator at the Asians Universities Debating Championship (3on3 format) and Asians BP Universities Debating Championship, as well as Chief Adjudicator at the Australasian Championships 2019 in Bali, and Deputy Chief Adjudicator for WUDC 2021 in Korea.
