QatarDebate Center—a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development—has concluded the activities of the 4th edition of its Summer Debate Camp, held from July 6 to 23, 2026, at the Center’s headquarters in Education City, with the participation of children aged between 9 and 13 years.
Held over five days, the English-language training program focused on introducing participants to the fundamentals of debating, developing research and thought-structuring skills, expressing ideas clearly, building self-confidence, fostering teamwork, and respecting diverse perspectives.
Several participants shared their experiences from the camp:
Tumadir Al Thani (11 years old):
“I discovered that debating helps me think before speaking and articulate my ideas more clearly. My ambition is to become a lawyer in the future, and I feel that debating will support me in developing my skills.”

Sheikha Talal Al-Tamimi (12 years old):
“I really enjoyed the collaborative activities where we engaged with one another. I was exposed to new ideas and realized the importance of listening to and respecting others’ views.”
Khalifa Fahad Al Thani (13 years old):
“I now know how to prepare for a debate and organize my thoughts before speaking. Researching information and discussing various topics has become much easier for me.”
Khalifa Al-Binali (11 years old):
“I learned that debating is not just about speaking, but also about active listening and working with a team. The activities helped me collaborate with my peers and understand their perspectives.”
The summer camp forms part of QatarDebate Center’s educational initiatives aimed at spreading a culture of dialogue and debate in both Arabic and English. It provides educational opportunities that contribute to developing young generations’ communication skills, structured thinking, confident self-expression, and mutual respect.
