In order to activate the role played by QatarDebate in launching initiatives and programs with partners around the world, the role of the center is evident in Turkey in cooperation with Turkish universities, the most important of which is the opening of the Arabic Language Studies and Debate Center, in Fatih Sultan Mehmet University in Istanbul.

In cooperation between QatarDebate and Fatih Sultan Mehmet University, the first meeting of the Hagia Sophia Talks program under the slogan “Language and Culture in Islamic Civilization” was held at the Hagia Sophia Complex of Fatih Sultan Mehmet University on Tuesday, June 14, 2023.

The meeting received wide participation from diplomats, representatives of official and scientific state institutions, civil society organizations in Istanbul and a group of prominent academics, in order to introduce QatarDebate and the Arabic Language Studies and Debate Center.

The event also aims to promote intellectual dialogues and exchange of different cultures and provides an opportunity to highlight the joint efforts between Turkey and the Arab world in the fields of education and cultural exchange. The activities of the “Hagia Sophia Talks” are related to the opening of the Hagia Sophia campus at the university, where the campus is of great importance, especially since the university is supported by the famous Sultan Mehmed II endowment, which was established in 1471 with the aim of preserving the Hagia Sophia Mosque.
