The Oasis of Dialogue Forum taps into the GCC cultural and economic transformations

The Oasis of Dialogue Forum in the Sultanate of Oman concluded its activities by highlighting many issues and axes, most notably the openness of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to the world and the impact of this openness on the identity of Gulf societies, the development of the tourism sector and its intersection with other sectors, and the strengthening of the position of Gulf identity and culture on the global scene.

An elite group of distinguished figures and decision-makers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries participated in the forum, which was organized by the QatarDebate Center and the OmanDebate Center in partnership with the Omani Ministry of Culture and Sports, who discussed, through their participation, the cultural and economic transformations taking place in the region in light of the rapid development that It is witnessed by the Gulf tourism sector.

The session entitled “Identity and Tourism in the Gulf” was attended by His Highness Dr. Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar in the Sultanate of Oman, His Excellency Mr. Hassan Al-Thawadi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in the State of Qatar, and His Excellency Mr. Saad Al-Rumaihi, President of the Qatar Press Centre, who spoke. Also about event tourism, hosting and organizing major international events, and their impact on the identity of Gulf society. The session was moderated by the Kuwaiti journalist, Dr. Ali bin Youssef Al-Sanad.

The forum was held over three days in Muscat, and included two days of intensive dialogue sessions in addition to many other events and activities with the participation of a large number of young people, officials and dignitaries in the Gulf countries. This forum represents the ninth edition of the “Oasis of Dialogue” series organized by the Qatar Debate Centre, as well as the first edition of the Oasis of Dialogue Forum.
