The Oasis of Dialogue Forum inaugurates in Oman

QatarDebate announced the inauguration of the “Oasis of Dialogue Forum” in the Sultanate of Oman, organized by QatarDebate and Oman Debate in partnership with the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth in Oman, as the first forum of its kind which will run from January 5 to January 9, 2024, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in Muscat. 50 youth from the GCC will participate to discuss ‘Identity and Tourism in the GCC’ through several intensive dialogue sessions on January 6 and 7. The event marks the ninth edition of the QatarDebate “Zone”Oasis of Dialogue” series, as well as the first edition of the Oasis of Dialogue Forum.

The event is a new and effective step to raise the level of constructive dialogue and fruitful discussion on important issues that accompany the current stage in the Gulf region, foremost of which is the issue of identity and tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The importance of this forum is due to the fact that it is a common platform that builds bridges of communication between Qatari and Omani youth, and the Gulf in general, and that it provides young people with a spacious space to listen to some decision-makers from the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman and discuss them in dialogue sessions on various topics.

The forum seeks to deepen the dialogue between the participating parties, with the aim of enriching the exchange of ideas and different points of view among young people, and promoting critical thinking and concepts of acceptance and respect for others, by giving the participating voices a horizon for expression and opinion, which in turn reflects on the general culture of Gulf youth of all age groups, and Omani youth in particular, as this event represents a milestone in the field of debates in the Sultanate of Oman, as it provides an opportunity for the youth community in the Sultanate to discuss the basic concepts and problematic relationships it poses. Forum, such as tourism, sports, entertainment and cultural tourism in the Gulf region.
