Lotfy Barkeh

Lotfy is a debate instructor at QatarDebate’s Arabic Programs Department since 2018.
Lotfy’s responsibilities within QatarDebate vary from organizing and presenting workshops and training sessions for different age groups, to organizing debate tournament and championships as well as coordinating with different local institutes.

Lotfy’s journey in debates started back in 2011 as an English debater in the secondary schools’ local tournaments, and later moved to debate in Arabic at the universities stage from 2012 until 2017. The title holder of the Qatar Universities Debate league in 2014 and 2016 and the National Champion in 2016 along with best speaker awards in 2014 and 2016. Internationally Lotfi came in 4th place with his team in the 3rd International Universities Debating Championship and received the 6th best speaker in the championship.

As an adjudicator, Lotfi participated in judging many local tournaments and championships as well as adjudicating in International Debating championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
In 2017 Lotfi was selected to be part in the 2nd batch of the Elite Academy and in 2019 he graduated as a member in the Elite Academy.

Lotfy is a chemical engineering graduate from Qatar University, who loves reading and watching football.
